Definitions references in Queries

Is there a quick way to find all the queries that reference a definition?

We have common business logic stored as global definitions and then queries built using these definitions. Before trying to make a change to a definition we wanted to know what all queries this impacts.

Since, we have a small set of reports, I could go through each and find the impact. Would be helpful, to know if there is a way to do this in a less manual way.

Hi Eli Fernandes - thanks for writing in.

The easiest way to address this is to sync your Mode organization to a GitHub repo, clone that repo onto your computer, and use your favorite text editor to search through all of the SQL code of the reports in your organization for the definition name.

On our help site, we have a detailed guide where you can learn about how to sync your Mode organization with Github

Hope that helps! Please do let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Jonathan! I'm new to mode analytics and wasn't aware of mode sync with Github. I learnt something new today!

Would like to see a feature built straight in Mode as all the information about the definitions and the reports that use it must already exist in the database.

    Thanks again!
